THE BEGINNING OF OUR WAY HOME

This summer, we sought to explore a new venture, upon a return to our origin, rooted in local elements and local hands.

NINH BÌNH TRIP: A MATERIAL SOURCING JOURNEY FOR CÓI BAG

During our trip to Ninh Binh, we discovered Kim Son – a land rich in natural beauty and diligent people, serving as a homeland to sedge. Its abundant source generously favors the time-honored practice of this village. This material has long been cherished for its application in artisanal creations.

With a chance to work with those who are dedicated to sedge-weaving, Cói bag is built upon Vietnamese hands, from local-sourced materials, carrying cultural value and tradition through each hand-finished detail.

LOCAL HANDS AND A SHARED BOND

The ongoing exploration took us next to Phu Yen and Phu Quoc, two coastal regions in Central and Southern Vietnam.

Phu Yen, a place known for its white sand coastlines, provides the raw white quartz. Here, under the hands of local makers, every quartz block is carefully selected, cut, polished, and sculpted into an egg-inspired shape with natural clarity.

Vietnamese coastal regions are home to well-made jewelry from their native surroundings. Through a friend in Phu Quoc, who values this handicraft, we've created Chùm Charm and the cord of Trứng Necklace. Each creation is hand-braided, with her enthusiasm for traditional crafting.

WHAT MAKES THESE PIECES SPECIAL

Entirely handcrafted, so no two pieces are exactly the same. The subtle variations and distinct sculpts that emerge from the makers' hand make each one carry its own story and individuality, allowing for genuine self-expression

The diversity of Vietnam's culture is widely appreciated for its tapestry of traditions and customs. This summer collection marks our very first step in reconnecting with our roots, drawing inspiration from local elements, culture, and traditions.

Similarly, our existing leather pieces, all made by Vietnamese hands, reflect the nation's lasting craftsmanship. We believe this connection offers a meaningful starting point for our upcoming journey delving deeper into its very origin.
